THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced the arrest of 2 illegal aliens in Cavite this week.

BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. reported the arrest of Nigerian nationals on Wednesday in General Trias, Cavite.

The arrest, according to Manahan, was conducted in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and officials of Barangay Navarro.

Both were arrested following a mission order issued by BI Commissioner Jaime Morente after acting on several complaints from members of the community.

The duo has reportedly rented units in the area for almost two years, was said to be “violent,” and would verbally abuse neighbors.

Investigation showed that both were already overstaying and, upon arrest, could not present their passports, deeming them undocumented aliens.

“Foreign nationals who are a ‘threat’ to society are considered undesirable aliens,” said Morente.

“Our country treats foreigners with hospitality, but once they become a burden to the community because of violence, they should be deported,” he added.

The two will remain in the BI’s facility in Bicutan, Taguig, pending deportation proceedings.
