Bgy. secretary killed, treasurer seriously hurt in ambush
A VILLAGE secretary was killed while a treasurer was seriously after they were ambsuhed while riding a barangay patrol vehicle in Bgy. Sta Maria, Bauan, Batangas.
Bauan Municipal Police Station chief P/Lt. Col. Louie D. Dionglay identified the fatality as Jojo Acuzar, married. The wounded treasurer was identified as Demetrio Silang, 47, single. Both victims are residents of Bgy. Sta Maria.
Initial investigation showed Acuzar and Silang were on their way to the barangay hall when one of the two suspects approached the victims’ vehicle and shot them repeatedly at 12:45 p.m.
Local residents rushed the victims to the Bauan Doctors General Hospital in Bauan where Acuzar was declared dead upon arrival by the attending physician.
