Bgy kagawad shot dead in Kawit
KAWIT, Cavite – A barangay councilor was shot in the face and chest right in front of his home Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in Barangay San Sebastian.
The victim was identified as Crisanto Talaña Villanueva, who was immediately rushed to San Pedro Calungsod Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Jewshau Yopo.
The culprit in the murder aboard the blue Yamaha Mio motorcycle has still not been found.
The motive for the killing of the councilor was allegedly political, according to statements by the victim’s family members and friends.
The victim was in front of his house and was shot twice by unidentified suspects who immediately fled toward Bgy. Alapan 2-A, Imus City.
Based on the CCTV footage review, the 2 suspects wearing only bull caps on motorcycles, parked near the victim’s house, the gunman came down and then shot the victim fatally in the face and chest causing his instantaneous death at around 8:10 in the morning.
