Bgy captain shot dead in Pampanga
A barangay chairman talking on a cellphone at a gas station was shot dead on Monday evening in Sto. Cristo, Guagua, Pampanga.
Pampanga police identified the victim as Ranier Asban, 45, barangay captain in Purok 6, Bgy. Sto. Nino, Guagua.
Witnesses said Asban was standing at Echo gas station talking on his cellphone when a man walked towards him and repeatedly shot him before escaping on a motorcycle towards Feeder Road, in Sto. Cristo.
Police immediately launched a dragnet operation and flashed alarm to the Provincial Tactical Operation for the possible arrest of the suspect who was wearing black T-shirt, short pants, and a blue surgical face mask.
