BBPO undergoes public information training

CAMP GEN. MIGUEL C. MALVAR, Batangas City – With the desire to improve and further develop the skills of each member of the Public Information Office (PIO) of the Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) under the leadership of BPPO Provincial Director P/Col. Pedro D. Soliba, a synchronization meeting of all PIO personnel, Thursday.

The guest lecturer, Andrew Bernardo, host of GMA 7 Balitang Southern Tagalog, shared some knowledge about news writing, editing, and reporting. He also explained the ins and outs of communication policies when it comes to the world of journalism.

He said concentration and training in writing, editing, and reporting news allow one to become an expert in this work.

With this skill, a balanced, realistic, and important message that we want to convey can be conveyed to the public, explained Bernardo.

The seminar provided the message that the PNP and Media as an excellent combination to convey to the community the information everyone can benefit from, such as warnings, news, events, etc.

On the other hand, PIO Officer P/Capt. Pauline P. Fernando also stood as a lecturer in the said activity, where she shared the skill of being a master of ceremony, being a good communicator, and the concept of having a good relationship between the PNP and the Media.

She said it is important to learn things related to public information and communication to respond effectively to its challenges.

“This work is only timely for PIO members of Batangas PPO. To those who participated, use what you have learned so that we can convey important news to the public. Work hard to further develop our relationship with the media and the public,” Soliba said.
