BBM’s Cabinet members
AS expected, incoming President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. continues to have his cards close to his chest when it comes to members of his Cabinet or official family.
Unlike in the past, even seasoned political analysts now appear to be hesitant in mentioning the names of possible appointees to vital and key positions in the government.
“Marami kasi ang nagugulat sa mga taong inilalagay ni Pangulong Marcos sa mga mahahalagang opisina at ahensiya ng gobyerno,” according to a veteran newspaperman.
Supporters of the incoming administration and even critics acknowledged that President BBM’s appointees, particularly members of the economic team, are outstanding leaders.
The economic managers, led by Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, are capable of nursing back to health the local economy, which was devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the Filipino people, including observers and mediamen, expect Marcos, the 17th President of the Philippines, to announce all the members of his Cabinet before June 30.
Under the 1987 Constitution, it’s on this day, at 12 high noon, that the former senator and other newly-elected national and local government officials will be sworn into office.
In his inaugural address at the historic National Museum near sun-kissed Manila Bay on Thursday, the new Chief Executive from Ilocos Norte is expected to articulate on his visions.
And it is highly likely that the only son and namesake of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos will reiterate his determination to bring back the old glory of this Southeast Asian nation.
With President Marcos in Malacanang, the Philippines, in the view of many, will be great again.
