WORKING double time to help ‘Odette’ victims get back on their feet at soonest time possible, presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. and his running mate vice-presidential bet Inday Sara Duterte, have donated generator sets and satellite dishes that helped restore power and communication lines in areas in Visayas and Mindanao badly-affected by the typhoon.

As result, the victims and local officials of devastated areas could not help but expressed their gratitude to the UniTeam for its continued support and concern for their welfare.

In his Facebook page, Bohol Rep. Aris Aumentado (2nd District) said the generator set and satellite dish given by the UniTeam is a big help to the people of Talibon as they can now communicate and seek help from their relatives and friends through their internet and Wi-Fi connections.

“Kana gihatag na satellite dish para sa Talibon ni BBM-Sara, para mo-function ang internet ug wifi sa LGU-Talibon ug dakong tabang na para makacommunicate ang lungsod sa National Government,” Aumentado said.

Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap, in his FB post, also thanked the BBM- Sara UniTeam for the aid they sent, especially for the additional generator set for their city.

“Salamat BBM sa tabang sa mga biktima sa bagyong Odette, na dugangan napod ang generator sa atong mga pumping units. #StandTogetherTagbilaran,” Mayor Yap said.

Liloan, Cebu Rep. Duke Frasco (5th District) in his FB page also thanked the BBM- Sara tandem as the donated satellite dish and two generator sets have been a great help for his constituents to shed light on their ‘dark’ Christmas.

“Daghang salamat, UniTeam BBM-Sara for the satellite broadband and two generator sets. The satellite broadband was turned over to Lilian Mayor Christina Garcia Frasco, and once operational, it will provide internet access vital to Liloan’s government offices,” Cong. Frasco said last December 28.

“The generators will power up the two police stations (Liloan and Compostela police), provide light and electricity to our police offices, and turn on the fans in the jail cell and give a bit of relief and comfort to the inmates already confined to their very small, hot, and congested spaces,” the lawmaker added.

Liloan Mayor Christina Garcia Frasco has expressed that the free wi-fi in their municipality is from the BBM-Sara UniTeam.

“You can now access FREE WIFI at the LILOAN MUNICIPAL HALL PLAZA! This FREE WIFI is a satellite broadband subscription donated by UniTeam BBM-Sara. Since December 22, we have also been providing FREE CHARGING at the Municipal Plaza,” she said.

Meanwhile, a set of satellite dishes and an 8kw gasoline generator set were received by Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap from the BBM-Sara Team, which immediately sent to Talibon Municipal Hospital.

Another 5kw (6Kva) diesel generator set were akso sent to Liloan, Southern Leyte; a satellite dish and two 8kw gasoline generator set were sent to Cong. Bingo Matugas of Surigao del Norte, while a 5kw (6Kva) diesel generator set were given to Surigao del Norte Gov. Francisco Matugas that he immediately sent to Siargao.

Marcos said the people of Visayas and Mindanao should be thankful to the volunteers and donors who immediately responded to their calls to deliver aid to the victims of typhoon Odette.

To recall, the UniTeam immediately went to areas devastated by the typhoon to personally hand over several million pesos in cash as first aid, as well as tons of rice and relief goods.

Thousands of gallons of water, water filtration kits, and construction materials are being continuously delivered to the typhoon victims to this day.

Marcos said he is very proud Filipinos can stay optimistic despite all the challenges that life throws on them.

“Kahit po mataas ang bilang ng Covid cases dito sa gawing Luzon, tayo naman po ay hindi pa rin nagpapabaya para tulungan ang mga biktima ng bagyo. Basta huwag po kayong bibitiw at huwag kayong mawawalan ng pag-asa dahil naniniwala ako sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaisa at bayanihan ay sama-sama tayong babangon muli,” Marcos said
