THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists passing along the main roads of the South and North areas of Caloocan City to take alternate routes on Saturday to avoid heavy traffic due to a motorcade/caravan organized by BBM-SARA UniTeam.

MMDA Public Information Office (PIO) head Sharon Gentalian said the caravan will start at 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before the group will converge in Barangay 185 Malaria, north of the city, for the conduct of proclamation rally which will start at 5:00 p.m.

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan said the city government approved the proposed route where the motorcade/caravan will be held.

Mayor Oca and Congressman Dale “Along” Malapitan earlier declared their solid support for BBM-Sara UniTeam and confirmed their attendance, along with their entire tickets under the Tao and Una political block, on the proclamation rally to be held in an open area near Villa Allesandra, Brgy. 185.

Although the event will start at 5:00 p.m., gates will be opened at 1:00 p.m. to allow thousands of supporters to witness the rally.

However, only those who are fully vaccinated will be allowed to enter the gate while combined forces of local policemen led by P/Col. Samuel Mina and elements of Northern Police District (NPD) under the direct supervision of District Director P/BGen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. will provide tight security to ensure that social distancing guidelines and safety protocols will be followed.
