THE TikTok user tagged in a supposed plot to kill presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) admitted during a live online press conference at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that he is a die-hard supporter of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Robredo is one of the political rivals of Marcos, the consistent survey frontrunner, in the May 2022 presidential elections.

Assisted by counsel, Ruel “Bong” Ricafort, who turned himself to the NBI Tuesday, divulged that he is the team captain of Bikers for Leni of the San Juan-Metro Manila chapter.

“Yes po (I’m a supporter of Robredo). I’m the team captain of Bikers for Leni in San Juan,” Ricafort said.

A check in popular social media platform Facebook showed that Bikers for Leni has chapters spread in cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region.

Meanwhile, NBI Deputy Director and concurrent spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin said that the bureau’s Cybercrime Division will require Ricafort to submit all his cellular phone and other gadgets for forensic examination.

This was after Ricafort vehemently denied involvement in the supposed plot to assassinate Marcos, claiming his TikTok account was hacked by a still-unknown individual or group.

“I want to clear my name na hindi po ako yun (who posted the alleged plot to kill). Hindi ko po alam bakit ako nadamay doon,” Ricafort, adding that he was shocked to see his Facebook photo in a TikTok account where the alleged plot was posted.

Also, Lavin challenged Ricafort to undergo a lie-detector test in light of his denial.

“In view of the statements, we challenge Mr. Ricafort to submit his gadgets for forensic examination. Also to submit to a lie detector test, check for [the] neuropsychiatric test,” Lavin said.

Right now, Lavin told reporters that Ricafort is a person of interest.

Last January, the Department of Justice – Office of the Cybercrime said it received reports of a TikTok user supposedly posting a death threat against Marcos Jr.

TikTok Philippines said the account of the said user has already been permanently banned.

The TikTok user supposedly made a comment: “Nagmemeeting kami araw-araw para paghandaang ipa aasassinate namin si BBM humanda kayo.”

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the NBI would “give priority attention” to any validated information pertaining to a threat to the personal security of any presidential aspirant.”
