Bayugan Festival set June 26

BAYUGAN City, the country’s “cut-flower capital” located at the northern part of Agusan del Sur, will host the much-awaited Mayor Kirk Asis Cup Invitational basketball tournament on June 26-29.

The four-day competition will be held as one of the week-long activities part of the Bayug Festival to celebrate the city’s 16th Charter Day anniversary.

Venue of the event is the Lope Asis Memorial gymnasium in Poblacion, Bayugan City.

Tournament director Van Halen Parmis said the tournament is expected to attract some of the best basketball players and teams from around the region, all vying for the top prize of P300,000 and a finely -crafted trophy.

The runner-up will pocket P200,000 and a trophy, while the third and fourth placers will receive P150,000 and P100,000, respectively.

“The tournament promises to be an exciting and competitive event, with some of the best teams from around the region showcasing their skills and talents on the court,” said Parmis, who thanked Mayor Asis for his all-out support to the tournament.

“It’s an opportunity for fans of the sport to witness some high-level basketball, and for the players to test their abilities against some tough competition.
