BATANGAS – A public meeting was recently held by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Batangas to tackle the “Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan” (PDPFP) 2022-2030 at the Salvador H. Laurel Session Hall, Apolinario Mabini Legislative Building, Capitol Compound, Batangas City.

The public meeting was led by 1st District Board Member and committee vice-chairperson (Committee on Housing and Land Utilization) Carlo Roman “Junjun” Rosales and attended by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), representatives of local government units (LGUs), and various other private and public agencies in the province.

The meeting discussed the sectors that need to be focused on, specifically agriculture and tourism in the province, which has been heavily affected by the pandemic.

Representatives of the attending agencies and offices, including the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office, Provincial Cooperative Livelihood and Enterprise Development Office, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), gave recommendations to enhance the economic level further and meet the “needs” of different sectors in the province.

5th District Board Member Arthur Blanco, who is recognized as one of the “promoters of agriculture” in the province, stressed the importance of having good programs for the agricultural sector, including the proper use of vacant lands and the construction of roads to facilitate the transportation of products and providing various knowledge and skills to Batangueño farmers.

The SP and the executive will work together, led by Batangas Gov. Dodo Mandanas, to “extend programs for the province’s continued economic growth.”
