Batangas SACLEO nabs 277 wanted felons

CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – At least 277 individuals were arrested by the Batangas Police in a week-long “Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations” (SACLEO), Provincial Police PIO (Public Information Office) Chief Police Lieutenant Pauline Pecaso Fernando said the other day.

In a report to PBGen. Antonio C. Yarra, Regional Director PRO Calabarzon (Police Regional Office Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) by PCol. Glicerio C. Cansilao, Batangas Provincial Director said that up to 277 individuals were arrested by Batangas Police in various operations.

67 wanted persons were arrested by Batangas PPO (Police Provincial Office) operatives on strength of warrants of arrest.

28 were listed as the most wanted persons, 11 at the regional level, eight at the provincial level, and nine at the city/municipal levels.

In 85 police operations against illegal drugs, 92 drug personalities were arrested. An estimated 77.65 grams of shabu worth P528,020 were confiscated, according to Cansilao.

Meanwhile, some 36.63 grams of marijuana worth P4,395 and up to P532, 415 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in a week-long operation in various places.

Of the 44 police operations against illegal gambling, 109 people were arrested, while ten people were nabbed for illegal possession of firearms.

On the other hand, 45 firearms were turned over by gun owners for safekeeping to police while arranging the renewal of their licenses.

“I commend all the operating units united for their impressive achievements. The Batangas PPO is in full force for the same purpose to overcome and keep the province protected against all forms of crime,” PCol. Cansilao added.
