CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – The Batangas police stations on Monday received 296 firearms and ten motorcycles (MCs), Provincial Police PIO (Public Information Office) chief Police Lieutenant Pauline P. Fernando said.

P/Col. Pedro D. Soliba, the provincial director, led equipment turnover on January 30.

This is to support further and strengthen the local police force of Batangas, Soliba said.

The turnover activity coincided with the BPPO’s (Batangas Police Provincial Office) traditional Monday flag-raising and awarding ceremony.

Soliba facilitated the turnover of firearms and patrol motorcycles to different police stations.

These include 28 units of 9mm Girsan pistols, six units of 9mm Taurus pistols, and two units of 9mm Canik together with magazines and ammunition.

Also, basic assault rifles cal. 5.56 were distributed, which consisted of 166 units of Emtan and 94 units of Emtan, together with magazines, tactical slings, and ammunition.

These will be given to PNP (Philippine National Police) personnel without government-issued firearms.

To boost the patrol capabilities of PNP Batangas, ten units of Honda XR 150 motorcycles were given to ten police stations of Batangas PPO.

“Batangas PPO is grateful to our Regional Director, P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr., for allowing this equipment to the police force of Batangas. With this addition to our equipment, we will be able to do our jobs more effectively and efficiently,” Soliba added.
