Batangas PNP nets 69 suspects in buy-busts
CAMP BGEN Vicente Lim, Canlubang, Laguna — At least 69 suspects were arrested by Batangas Police Provincial Office operatives during the conduct of Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) from last Wednesday, January 19 to Saturday, January 22.
A report by PCol. Glicerio C. Cansilao, Batangas Provincial Director to PBGen, Eliseo DC Cruz, Police Regional Director 4A, CALABARZON said authorities seized approximately 63.26 grams of suspected shabu and 10.25 grams of marijuana worth P431,398 from some of the arrested suspects.
Meanwhile, a police encounter occurred when a man fired a gun after evading a checkpoint by Calaca Municipal Police Station personnel in Sitio Cahigpitan, Bgy. Madalunot, Calaca town at 2:10 a.m.
Police defended themselves and exchanged gunfire which resulted in the death of the suspect.
Cancilao identified the suspect as Geohary Mangundaya alias Geohary, 21 unemployed, and resident of B31 L4 Datu Ismael, Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Ten grams of shabu and one cal. .38 gun were recovered from the suspect. Investigation showed he was arrested by Calaca MPS personnel on October 19, 2019, for violating Sec. 5 and 11 of RA 9165 but it was also acquitted.
