CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — The Batangas Police Provincial Office, headed by Acting Provincial Director COL Glicerio C. Cansilao, said the other day it has made 649 arrests amid its intensified law enforcement operations in the province.

Of the total number of arrests, 236 were involved in illegal drugs during series of buy-bust operations and implementation of search warrants.

Police confiscated 125.74 grams of shabu and 177.1 grams of marijuana with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P876,284.

He said 113 wanted persons were also nabbed during the service of warrants of arrest, while 282 individuals who were engaging in illegal cockfighting and number games were arrested.

Further, 18 persons were handcuffed for illegal possession of firearms, while a total of 19 loose firearms were confiscated.

“Let us continue to work hand in hand to accomplish our mission to prevent and control crimes, maintain peace and order and ensure public safety. We highly encourage the community especially the Batangueños for their active participation in PNP efforts in promoting peace,” Cansilao said.
