Batangas cops net 49 felons
CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — At least 49 suspected felons were arrested by Batangas cops in the province during intensified operations conducted April 24 and 25, said provincial police PIO chief Police Lieutenant Mary Anne DV Espina.
Batangas Provincial Director PCOL Rex Arvin T. Malimban said most of those arrested were involved in illegal gambling.
A total of 37 individuals were apprehended by Lipa City police in the towns of San Jose, Rosario, Malvar, Laurel, and Calaca.
Malimban said four wanted persons were nabbed during the service of warrants of arrest in Batangas and Sto Tomas Cities as well as Bauan and Taal towns.
Eight suspected drug personalities were arrested in buy-busts conducted in Tanauan and Sto Tomas cities as well as in the towns of Bauan, Calatagan, and Tuy. Also seized were 0.69 grams of shabu with an estimated DDB value of P4,692.00.
Three suspects were nabbed for violation of Republic Act 7610 also known as the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act”, two for alarm and scandal and two for direct assault in operations conducted in Sto Tomas City as well as San Jose and San Luis towns. Another suspect was held for malicious mischief in Lemery town.
“This accomplishment is also a manifestation of the quality service our Batangas cops who take all necessary steps to ensure public safety and for the furtherance of peace and order in the province,” said Malimban.
