Bataan gives 25 horses to farmers living in hinterlands

MORONG, Bataan — In its bid to help then transport their farm products, the provincial government of Bataan provided 25 horses to farmers living in the mountainous towns of Morong, Dinalupihan and Bagac.

Governor Abet S. Garcia said the granting of the horses was part of the Bataan provincial government’s livelihood program to farmers living in hinterlands.

Garcia said beneficiaries for said horses were those residing in remote areas of Morong, Bagac and Dinalupihan.

Dr. Albert Venturina, Provincial Veterinarian, said 23 female horses and two males were given to the farmers. After their horses givd birth, the mother horse will be transferred to another beneficiary but the young ones will then be owned by the farmer.

Dr. Venturina pointed out that most of the recipients were farmers living in the mountains who are having a hard time transporting their products to the market.

Venturina added that “all the beneficiaries in Dinalupihan are Aetas.

“Namahagi pong muli ang Provincial Veterinary Office ng 25 kabayo para sa mga kwalipikadong magsasaka na nasa malalayong lugar sa bayan ng Morong. Ito po ay bahagi pa rin ng Livelihood Improvement Program ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Bataan. Asahan po ninyo na patuloy po nating isinusulong ang mga ganitong programa na layong maiangat pa ang antas ng pamumuhay ng ating mga kababayang magsasaka, lalo na sa panahong ito ng pandemya,” said Garcia on Facebook.
