BALANGA CITY, Bataan –The Bataan Provincial Health Office (PHO), headed by Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, vowed to boost its campaign to provide the right nutrition and prevent obesity, growth stunting, and other diseases among children and adults as the province prepares for its “fight” against malnutrition.

Under the program “Nutrisyon ang Solusyon, Lamang ang may Alam”, Dr. Buccahan said they conducted lectures on right nutrition and proper hygiene for children and their parents in all municipalities as part of this year’s celebration of Nutrition Month.

“We also provided healthy merienda to healthcare workers to ensure their well-being, and had free nutrition assessment and dietary counseling to people with hypertension and diabetes,” she pointed out.

The Bataan provincial government’s PHO has the support of Governor Joet Garcia to promote health programs to Bataeños.

Earlier this year, PHO launched the “Kalusugang Hatid sa Katutubong Kapatid”, which aims to provide medical and nutrition services to 18 indigenous peoples (IP) communities in the province.

“This is to ensure that medical programs and services of the government are accessible even in the remote areas,” Buccahan said.

“We would like to emphasize the importance of the ‘whole-of-government’ approach through our partnership with different government offices and agencies in strengthening and expanding the nutrition programs and services in the province in delivering our nutrition programs to all Bataeños,” she added.
