PRESIDENTIAL Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. yesterday hailed the appointment of Maguindanao del Norte Gov. Abdulraof Macacua as the new interim chief minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
“I welcome the leadership change in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. This transition comes at a crucial time as the Bangsamoro region prepares for a significant milestone—its first parliamentary elections in October this year,” he said.
Galvez expressed his trust in Macacua, saying he had demonstrated “action-oriented” leadership through the various positions he held.
Macacua’s appointment will further strengthen the leadership foundation established by Ahod Ebrahim, Al-Haj, in the ongoing transition period of the Bangsamoro region, Galvez said.
“I wholeheartedly express my gratitude to Chair Ebrahim for his leadership and vision, particularly in fostering meaningful autonomy for the Bangsamoro people and advancing the peace process in the region,” he said, urging the Bangsamoro people to support the new leadership. Philippine News Agency
