SPARKLE princess Barbie Forteza did not join any Halloween activities in the local front. Instead, she opted to fly to the US to visit her sister, Gabrielle Vierneza, in Chicago, Illinois.

Barbie took time off from her taping of GMA Prime’s historical drama series, Pulang Araw, seen nightly on the network and also streams on Netflix.

The sisters donned Monster, Inc. characters for Halloween and posed in their costumes. Apparently, Barbie is having a great time this autumn in Chicago.

“Just trust me, you’ll be fine,” Barbie wrote on Tiktok where she uploaded photos of herself in the city, posing as she walked in front of a tree.

While she was in the US, Barbie took the advantage to catch the performance of Taylor Swift’s The Eras concert tour in Indianapolis. The experience was a dream-come-true for her.

In the video she posted on Instagram, Barbie was seen singing Taylor Swift’s hits like Cruel Summer, All Too Well and Love Story, among others.

“It has been a long time coming,” Barbie said in the caption.

Barbie skipped The Eras concert tour in Asia after she purchased a house early this year. “It’s a splurge for me,” she said.

A self-confessed Swiftie, Barbie cried tears of joy when Sparkle artist Rain Matienzo gifted her with The Eras tour merchandise last February.

After starring last July in That Kind of Love, directed by Cathy Camarillo, Barbie also flew to Thailand with loveteam David to prepare for another undisclosed project yet.

In “Pulang Araw,” Barbie plays Adelina de la Cruz, while David is Hiroshi Tanaka. The series airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on GMA Prime, after 24 Oras. The drama also stars Sanya Lopez and Alden Richards.

It will be remembered that Barbie and David flew to Canada last April for the Sparkle GMA Artists tour, with Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose, Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali.

David Chua essays Captain America for Halloween

ACTOR-director David Chua dressed up as Captain America for Halloween 2024. The Good Will comedian and Rated Korina director looked every inch like the Marvel superhero, complete with his winged half mask and star-emblazoned shield.

The chinito actor, who donned the red, white and blue body suit adorned with the Avengers insignia, confessed he had always admired Captain America as a kid.

“As a comic book fan, I’ve always been fascinated with Captain America’s back story,” said David, who is running for Manila councilor in 2025. “You know, like Steve Rogers’ transformation from geek to vigilante super soldier.

“As a kid, who wouldn’t be inspired by Captain America’s unwavering patriotism and his quest for truth and justice, right?”

Together with two other good friends dressed up as Deadpool and Spider Man, David walked through the streets of his hometown in Tondo to distribute an assortment of goodies and festive treats to kids, who eagerly transformed into colorful cartoon and film characters.

“In my own little way, I just want to share my blessings with kids on occasions like Halloween,” said David. “The smiles on their faces makes it worth all the effort.”

In the past Halloweens, David had also dressed up as vampire Lestat (2022), played by Tom Cruise in Interview with the Vampire and his spot-on cosplay of The Joker became a big viral hit in 2021.

In a recent interview with Bilyonaryo.com, David disclosed the actresses he would like to work with, including Jackie Gonzaga and Shaina Magdayao.

David also expressed his admiration for Kristine Hermosa, calling her a “refreshing sight,” his biggest childhood crush and his dream leading lady for his future projects.
