Baguio cops net 3 drug suspects

THREE known drug traffickers in the Cordillera region have been arrested and jailed following separate anti-narcotics operations in Baguio City this week, Cordillera Police Regional Office Director Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee said on Saturday.

The official said one of the suspects is a 17-year-old male whose name was withheld due to his age and nabbed during a buy-bust operation for P800 worth of shabu in Bgy. Fairview.

Brig. Gen. Lee said that one female suspect was collared b members of the Baguio City Police Station 7 after she sold some P3,400 worth of shabu to an undercover officer near the Rizal Monument.

The 2nd suspect was arrested during a sting in Bgy. East Quirino Hill, which led to the confiscation of some P3,400 worth of shabu.

Lee said that the three are now facing charges for selling and possessing prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The two adult suspects are now locked-up at the Baguio City police jail, while the teenager will be turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for further disposition.

The confiscated pieces of drug evidence will be placed under the safekeeping of the Cordillera Forensic Group, Brig. Gen. Lee said.
