Baby beheaded, pa killed in Surigao del Norte

A MAN and his eight-month-old baby on Monday were hacked dead in their home in Surigao del Norte.

Johnny Sequira was found with hack wounds in the face and neck while his baby was decapitated.

The infant’s palm was also cut off.

The suspect was Johnny’s own brother, Fred, 33.

In a report to Police Regional Office 13 director Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr., a witness saw the suspect hurriedly leaving the house of the victims at Purok Mabuhjay, Bgy. Matin-ao, Mainit, Surigao del Norte.

Sensing something wrong had happened, the witness went to the house of the victims to check when she was shocked to see Johnny and the baby bloodied and dead on the kitchen floor.

The witness immediately sought for help.

Upon learning of the gruesome killing, Caramat immediately ordered a pursuit operation against the suspect, who fled towards the mountainous area of the village.

Authorities theorized the suspect was suffering from mental disorder.

“We humbly request the community’s support and cooperation in reporting any sightings of the perpetrator to the nearest police station so that he can be apprehended immediately, giving justice to the heinous murder of the two victims,” the police official said.

ANOTHER HACKING INCIDENT LEAVES 2 DEAD IN BATANGAS

Another hacking incident also on Monday left a 71-year-old farmer and a woman dead and a student wounded in Bgy. Molinete, Laurel, Batangas.

SMS Michael Mercado and Pat. Romer Herrera of the Laurel Municipal Police Station said slain were Jovencio Magsino and Rodela Cajila, of Bgy. Molinete in Laurel municipality.

The injured was Ronalyn Cajilla, 15.

Suspect Bonnie Abindanio alias “Bay,” a 48-year-old driver, of Bgy. Balakilong also in Laurel, was arrested by responding lawmen.

An investigation showed the suspect arrived at the house of the victims on Monday night and for unknown reason stabbed them one after the other.

Magsino died on the spot.

The Cajilas were rushed to Dr. Ernesto Malabanan Memorial Hospital in Laurel for emergency treatment and later transferred to Global Medical Center in Talisay town, where Rodela was declared dead by attending physician, Dr. Kit Harven Soliven.

The suspect was arrested in Bgy. As-Is in Laurel. Recovered from him was the 54 cm.-long bolo believed used in the killing. With Jojo Magsombol
