‘Ayuda’ fixers, fake beneficiaries nabbed

PASIG police arrested alleged ‘ayuda’ fixers and unqualified beneficiaries who allegedly tampered with the list of beneficiaries during a pay-out in Barangay Kalawaan.

PCol. Roman Arugay, Pasig Police chief, identified the arrested suspects as Ma. Teresa C. Lignes, 35, (Santolan, Pasig); Jay Almer L. Lalosa,30, (San Miguel, Pasig); Rhajz Rodem S. Tolentino, 22, (San Miguel, Pasig); Anna Alizza S. Andres, 31, (Maybunga, Pasig); Rusty D. Beltran, 21, (San Miguel, Pasig); Mary Jane R. Ortiguerra, 38 (San Joaquin, Pasig); Amie V. Ordonia, 40, (Manggahan, Pasig); Derrick J. Quario, 43, (Manggahan, Pasig); Jayve M. Amoranto, 26, (Taytay, Rizal); Joel U. Hernandez, 37, (Banaba, San Mateo, Rizal); Raffy A. Valdez, 29, (Taytay, Rizal); and Teodulo A. Sta. Ana, 61 (Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal).

Also arrested were Raymart G. Javier, 21, (Barangka, Marikina); John Dale Barredo, 19, (Barangka, Marikina);Rommel B. Obispo, 24, (Barangka, Marikina); and Edgardo G. Balawang Jr., 28, (Barangka, Marikina).

In a follow-up operation on the same day, policemen collared Ada S. Garde, 38, and Ana Lyn M. Balasabas, 32, for allegedly facilitating the distribution of assistance forms and validating the bogus beneficiaries.

Police said the 16 individuals were not even from Barangay Kalawaan. Some of them are residents of neighboring barangays in Pasig, some are from Marikina City, and others are residents of Rizal Province.

Cops apprehended 16 individuals who allegedly pretended to be beneficiaries of the “ayuda” from the national government.

According to investigators, they seized a total of P31,000 from the apprehended suspects.

A report from the Eastern Police District revealed that an informant tipped authorities about the modus, and an operation was mounted around 3:30 p.m. in a cash aid distribution site in Barangay Kalawaan.

“Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office after the completion of pertinent documents,” Pasig Police said in a statement.
