Auto electrician, minor stabbed during drinking spree

POLICE last Sunday reported that an auto electrician and a 16-year-old student were seriously injured after being stabbed by another minor after a heated argument during a drinking spree in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas.

According to Sto. Tomas City Police Station case investigators SSgs. Emiliano Carandang and Billy Rey Olalo said the victims were identified as Jomari Ilagan, 28, single, auto electrician, and a 16-year-old student of Purok 1 both in Bgy. San Miguel, Sto. Tomas City.

The suspect according to investigators is a 17-year-old construction worker, a native of Sto. Tomas City, and a resident of Bgy. San Pedro 2, Malvar town.

Authorities received a telephone call from the security guard of CP Reyes Hospital, Tanauan City, Batangas and informing them that there was a victim of the stabbing incident being treated thereat.

Initial investigation showed that at around 11:00 p.m. on April 17, 2022, the victims together with the suspect were having a drinking spree at Purok 1 when the suspect and the minor had a heated argument.

Suddenly the suspect drew a Swiss knife and stabbed the victims several times.

The two sustained some stabbed wounds in different parts of their bodies, and Ilagan was rushed to the CP Reyes Hospital, Tanauan City, while the minor boy was taken to Batangas Medical Center for medical treatment.

The suspect was arrested along with the pointed weapon used and properly turned over to City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) personnel.
