ATeacher partylist nominee Virginia Rodriguez backs PBBM program to cut prices of basic needs
ATEACHER partylist nominee, Virginia Rodriguez, has expressed her strong support to the programs and initiatives introduced by the Marcos administration aimed at reducing the prices of essential goods, including rice and various agricultural products.
The decrease in the prices of essential goods contributed to a reduction in inflation rates in January and February, which stood at minus 2.3 percent, compared to the minus 2.8 percent recorded in June 2020, according to the report of the Department of Agriculture.
“This is a result of the collaborative initiatives with the government and the ATeacher partylist which is to provide organic fertilizers, livelihood programs, and seminars on the use of modern agricultural machines and modern techniques,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez also emphasized that the ATeacher Partlyist is committed not only to a singular educational mission but also to broader initiatives in agriculture and health.
“This includes the goal of creating a cancer-free nation through the development of all-organic vitamins that can help prevent cancer and other diseases,” she said.
“Part of my advocacy is to provide free education for all students throughout the country and to implement free meal programs in schools, recognizing that many students come to class hungry,” Rodriguez added.
“Furthermore, I intend to address the needs of teachers by providing them with two sacks of rice each month and ensuring they have access to free wifi,” she said.
“I am preparing to submit a proposal to Congress for a program that offers free meals at all transportation hubs, local communities, and schools, with the goal of eradicating malnutrition and hunger across the nation,” RodrIguez said.
