Armed men shoot voters, 1 killed, 5 hurt in Basilan
POLICE are hunting down the armed men who shot at a group of voters in Tabuan Lasa, Basilan killing one and injuring five others.
The fatality was identified as Ricardo Fabian, 52.
Fabian died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.
The injured were Bol Madjalis, 48; and Hakim Munib, 38; Andy Reyes Jr., 30; Narrudin Gadjali, 29; and Alnasri Jammang, 29.
The victims had just came from a polling center in Bgy. Tong-Umus, Tapiantana, Tabuan Lasa when the suspects shot them with high-powered firearms at around 2 p.m. on Monday.
Basilan police director Col. Pedro Martirez said the suspects, who were hiding in houses near the polling center, waited for the police to leave the place and started shooting at the victims.
