
Armed ‘HVT’ arrested in Abra sting
A 45-year-old casual employee of the Bangued municipal government in Abra-turned ‘high-value drug target’ was arrested by the local police in a buy-bust operation in Bucay municipality late afternoon Thursday, Cordillera Police Regional Office director, Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee announced yesterday.
Suspect Crizaldo Bigornia Afroilan, a truck driver residing in Bgy. Poblacion in Bangued, yielded two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some six grams of shabu worth P40,800, the buy-bust money and an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing six live ammunition during the sting in Sitio Gaco, Bgy. Siblong in Bucay, Abra 3:45 p.m. Thursday, the official said.
Lee said members of the Bangued Municipal Police Station, Abra Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit, Cordillera Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency jointly conducted the successful sting.
He said the local police also impounded a dump truck with plate no. RHF-259 being driven by the suspect prior to the operation.
The suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013, said Lee.
