POLICE Major General Rhoderick C. Armamento, acting commander of Area Police Command-Southern Luzon (APC-SL), the other day, visited Camp Gen. Miguel C Malvar in Batangas City and praised the Batangas PPO (Police Provincial Office) led by Provincial Director P/Col. Glicerio C. Cansilao for his contribution and coordination with other government agencies to provide security and ensure orderly elections last May 9 elections.

Also recognized and feted were the 1st Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company (BPMFC), led by Force Commander P/Maj. Ira A. Morello, 2nd Batangas (BPMFC) under Force Commander P/Lt. Col Jaime S. Pederio, Jr., and Mabini Municipal Police Station (MPS) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Maj. Mickglo D. Marinas.

After the arrival honors, the traditional “Talk to Men” was held, where Armamento conveyed the instructions and guidance of DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government) Secretary Atty. Benjamin “Benhur” C. Abalos, Jr. and PNP-OIC P/Lt. Gen. Vicente D. Danao, Jr., to dedicate and intensify operations related to internal security, and campaign against criminality, particularly against the proliferation of illegal or unlicensed firearms.

The APC-SL commander said, “it is necessary to intensify the police presence or visibility, where we must always be in ‘proper dress’ so that the people can see us as respected law enforcement officers and easy to approach, especially at the time of their need.”

He added that as the “alter-ego” of PNP-OIC Lt. Gen. Danao, his visit was part of the “Operations Readiness and Performance Audit” (ORPA) to see the situation and know “the needs of his subordinates” so that it could be conveyed directly to Danao and help each other under the “Revitalization and Capability Enhancement Program” (RCEP) of PNP.

“We are grateful for the recognition awarded to the Batangas PPO because it shows that our partners in the mission ‘To Serve and Protect’ appreciate the duties performed by our police officers. We are very satisfied with this, and you can count on us to do our best to fulfill our duty while following the directives of our good OICs of the PNP and [the secretary of] DILG,” said Brig. Gen. Yarra.
