INDIAN-BASED Apollo Hospital praised the contribution of ACT-CIS partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo for the successful liver transplant of at least 150 Filipino, who were mostly children, with biliary atresia.

In a thanksgiving program on Wednesday held in Edsa Shangri-La in Makati, which was led by officials of Apollo Hospital, they personally thanked Tulfo, who also served as their guest of honor and speaker.

“Your unwavering commitment to supporting the medical needs of those in our community has been truly remarkable. Your compassionate efforts have not only save lives but have also provided hope and healing to individuals and families in need,” said Gaurav Thakral, Deputy Head International Marketing of the said hospital.

The group specifically mentioned the role of Rep. Tulfo who personally helped and sent 60 children or babies with biliary atresia to New Delhi, India for their “life-saving” liver transplant.

“Your presence will now only honor the remarkable achievements of our patients but also inspire others to continue supporting initiatives that strive to make a diffrence in the lives of those facing critical health challenges,” the group noted referring to Rep. Tulfo.

“Your presence is a testament to the power of generosity, kindness, and community spirit in transforming the landscape of healthcare access and support in our country,” the group added.

Apollo Hospital announced their “significant milestone” in pediatric healthcare after the successful 150 liver transplant for biliary atresia patients.

In recent years, Apollo Hospital has been offering life-saving liver transplant surgeries to children, mostly from the Philippines.

With the cooperation of those with good hearts and well-known philanthropists like Rep. Tulfo, they successfully performed the dangerous liver transplant on Filipino children.

The said program became successful through the vision of Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman and Founder of Apollo Group and Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson.

Also included were Dr. Anupam Sibal, Group Medical Director and Dr. Neerav Goyal, chief Liver Transplant and HPB Surgeon, who also head the surgical team.
