AP.Bren crowned itself as the undisputed champion in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M5 World Championship.

Bannered by Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo, AP.Bren lived up to its high billing by beating Onic Esports. 4-3, to clinch the championship at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum last Monday.

Kyle “Kyletzy” Sayson, David “Flaptzy” Canon, Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, and Marco “Super Marco” Requitano also starred in the victory that put AP.Bren firmly on top of the esports world with another coveted trophy to its collection.

The winning foursome also became the first team to be crowned as world champions twice in a span of a year after also winning the IESF World Esports Championship as part of the Sibol team just last September.

In a resounding display during Game 7, AP.Bren decisively shut down any prospects of a comeback for Onic Esports, securing numerous firsts in the M-series stage.

They etched their name in history as the first team to claim multiple M-worlds titles and the inaugural host team to emerge victorious in the competition. Flaptzy, honored as the Finals MVP, showcased remarkable resilience in the endgame, orchestrating a comeback for Bren Esports from a 5-7 kill deficit.

…His strategic backline dives with his Khaleed pick proved instrumental. Flaptzy’s efforts played a crucial role in containing CW’s Claude, Sanz’s Yve, and Kiboy’s Kadita, ultimately securing victory in the decisive winner-take-all match.

The Filipinos sought redemption after a painful 3-0 defeat against Onic in the upper bracket finals, effectively halting the Indonesian champions’ ambitious march towards the Golden Road.

Bren Esports took the initiative with a commanding 7-1 win in the opening match, fueled by Kyletzy’s stellar 3-0-7 performance and Owgwen’s impactful 0-0-7 display on the Mathilda.

Despite Onic’s comeback in Game 2 with a narrow 15-13 victory, the Filipinos remained undeterred. They surged ahead to series match point with convincing triumphs in Games 3 and 4, securing victories with scores of 15-8 and 11-1.

Onic mounted a spirited comeback in Game 5, extending the match into the late game and emerging victorious in the 26th-minute Lord fight with an 18-19 turnaround.

This win breathed new life into the Indonesian champions and forced a sixth game.

In Game 6, Onic continued their resurgence as CW dominated with a 9-1-8 performance on Claude, leading to a masterful 20-12 win.

The series was forced into a thrilling winner-take-all showdown, showcasing the resilience and determination of both teams.
