Antique shooting incident leaves 3 dead
A 33-YEAR-OLD man shot dead a barangay kagawad and a police officer before he was killed by responding lawmen in Bugasong, Antique.
Police identified the victims as barangay councilor Efren Florendo, 60; and SSgt. Elvin Agting, 42, a member of the Bugasong Municipal Police Station while the suspect was Roy Jalipa.
Witnesses said Jalipa bought cigarettes from a store when without a word shot Florendo using a homemade shotgun.
Responding lawmen tried to pacify the suspect but instead of surrendering, Jalipa shot Agting.
Lawmen retaliated, killing the suspect on the spot.
The suspect’s family said Jalipa was suffering from nervous breakdown.
