THE Antipolo City local government issued a warning to the public, particularly to the restaurants and other business establishments in the city, against “reservation scam,” where the name of the LGU or the provincial government and even the former governor of the province of Rizal, is being used.

Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares III, said alleged reservations are being done on their behalf, of the provincial or on the name of former Gov. Casimiro “Ito” Ynares Jr..

Mayor Jun was quick to state that they are not making reservations.

“Tayo po ay nakatanggap ng madaming text messages at tawag mula sa ilang restaurants at events place para kumpirmahin o mag follow-up ng reservation daw natin sa kanila mula sa mga nagpakilala na mula daw sa Office of the Mayor o Office of the Governor at ginagamit pa ang pangalan ni former Gov. Ito,” Mayor Jun said.

Mayor Jun called on the business establishments in the city and the entire province of Rizal to always verify with them, or the Provincial Government or with former Gov. Ito Ynares Jr. first.

“Huwag basta maniniwala sa mga anonymous calls at texts at mga nagpapanggap na mula sa aming tanggapan. Maging alerto at mag-ingat sa mga ganitong modus upang huwag maging biktima,” he said.

Mayor Jun asked the perpetrators behind such scam to stop immediately as they can be traced by the Philippine National Police-Anti Cybercrime Group and be charged in court.
