American wanted for kiddie sex crime nabbed
MEMBERS of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) fugitive search unit (FSU) on Wednesday arrested an American for being an undesirable alien
Jonathan Michael James, 37, was arrested in an operation at Brgy. Krus na Ligas in Diliman, Quezon City September 21.
US authorities have revoked Jamesโ passport and Philippine immigration authorities consider him as an undocumented and undesirable alien.
The fugitive is a subject of a warrant of arrest issued by the Davidson County, Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina, USA for five counts of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, in Violation of Section 14-190.17 of the North Carolina General Statutes.
The US government informed the BI early this month about his crimes, prompting BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco to issue a mission order to locate and arrest him.
โWe have close coordination with foreign governments to ensure that foreign fugitives do not use our country to escape punishment for their crimes,โ said Tansingco.
Prior to his deportation, James will remain in the BIโs holding facility in Taguig.
