
AMC Cotabato survives Army
AMC COTABATO bucked a second set loss to beat Army, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 26-24, to gain a share of first place in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the Paco Arena.
Jao Umandal sustained his stellar play for the Cotabato Spikers with 17 points on 13-of-26 attacks, including three blocks, and 11 receptions.
With a 2-0 record, AMC Cotabato joined Iloilo-based D’Navigators and Imus on top of the standings.
Coach Odjie Mamon rued his side’s 36 errors.
“We were so erratic at sa sobrang dami ng errors nafu-frustrate na kami,” Mamon said.
Edward Camposano was also huge for the Cotabato Spikers with 12 points and 12 receptions.
Benjaylo Labide had 14 points, including two service aces, and 15 receptions, while PJ Rojas chipped in 12 points for the Troopers.
Army, which defeated PGJC-Navy in three sets last week, dropped to 1-1.
