IGNORING incoming President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s call for unity, his foes press on with their smear campaign against him.
One such attempt is fake news about Marcos reserving the whole Amanpulo Island for the BBM-Sara UniTeam’s victory party.
The false report was meant to discredit Marcos by showing the more than 31 million voters who elected him chose the wrong candidate because he lives extravagantly while millions of Filipinos are living in poverty.
The fake news fanned the ire of netizens who were part of 31 million Marcos voters.
They condemned the increasing operation to blacken Marcos’ image.
Meanwhile, Katrina Razon, daughter of billionaire Ricky Razon, belied the fake news.
The Amanpulo Resort in Pamalican Island, Palawan is reportedly owned by the Razons.
“Claims of a buyout and UniTeam victory party in Amanpulo are false. Verified and confirmed. We need to stop misinformation and disinformation from spreading regardless of which political candidate you support,” she said. By LEE ANN P. DUCUSIN
