AUTHORITIES dismantled a drug den following the arrest of six drug personalities and seizure of almost P1.4 million worth of shabu in a drug sting operation Thursday evening in Taguig City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the arrested suspects as Nerilita Jumaquio, 55, and Crisanto San Jose, 63, both residents of Dinggin Bayan St., Bgy. Ibayo, Tipas; Jon-Jon Cajucom, 35, and Jobelle Cruz, 36, both of Catleya St., Urban Village, Bgy. Napindan; Norudin Bandong, 28, and Raida Ali, 25, of Bgy. New Lower Bicutan.

The arrest of the suspects was the result of a buy-bust operation conducted by joint operatives of the District Drug Enforcement Unit, District Intelligence Division, SPD-District Mobile Force Battalion and Taguig Police Sub-Station 5 under the supervision of P/Lt. Col. Renante Galang at around 6:50 p.m. at 438 Dinggin Bayan St, Bgy. Ibayo-Tipas against Jumaquio.

When Jumaquio handed the small plastic sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P500 marked money, lawmen pounced on her and immediately swooped down on her house which she utilized as drug den and arrested five other drug personalities.

Police seized from the suspects more of less 205 grams of shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P1,394,000, P500.00 buy-bust money, one gray shoulder bag, one checkered wrist pouch, one blue hand pouch, two digital weighing scale and two identification cards.

The arrested suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 13 and 14, under Art II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

“Because of our intensified drive against illegal drug operation, I must say that it is possible that someday we will be able to catch the ‘big fish’ in the illegal drug trade which is key to eradicate the menace of drugs in our country that is rapidly victimizing the youth. With this, I am asking our citizen’s help to support this battle by means of reporting any illegal drug activities in your area,” Macaraeg said.
