THE only son of Alfred and Yasmine Vargas, Cristiano, is starting his venture into the big school as he enrolled at Ateneo de Manila University to start pre-school.

“First day of school. New friends to meet. New adventures to seek. New place of learning,,” wrote Yasmine on the first day of school of her son.

“We woke up at 4:30 a.m. and left the house at 5:20 a.m. kasi tinatantsa pa namin ang traffic,” shared the Filipino-Italian mom.

“Nagulat kami ni Alf, biglang nagbinata si Cristiano. Sobrang proud kami dahil nakita namin kung gaano ka-mature ang only boy namin.”

Cristiano did not cry. It was his mom who was in tears as he entered the classroom. “Hindi siya nag-reklamo and paglabas niya may mga friends na siya kaagad,” said Yasmine.

Alfred is only too proud that Cristiano is the third generation Atenista in the family, following him and his dad, Alfredo “Freddieboy” Vargas, Jr. “Like father, like son,” the dad beamed.

“Ang aga namin dumating sa pasukan at maaga din kaming dumating before dismissal. Excited parents. Masaya.

“Pero pinakamasarap ay ‘yung nakita si Cristiano na super happy after class at nagkwento agad sa amin ng kanyang wonderful first day in class.”

Cristiano is Alfred and Yasmine’s third child and only boy. Their eldest is Alexandra Milan and second is Aryanna Cassandra. Youngest is Aurora Sofia, born last December 2023.

Family affair

OSCAR winner Matt Damon was surrounded by a bevy of beauties – wife Luciana and four daughters – as they made a rare appearance in the glitzy New York premiere of his latest film, ‘The Instigators.’

The 53-year-old father of three showed up with his three daughters – Isabella, 18; Gia, 15; and Stella, 13 – making a rare public appearance for the girls. Alexa Barroso, Luciana’s daughter from a previous marriage, joined them.

Matt’s mom, Nancy Carlsson-Paige, was also with the family in several photos. The “Bourne” franchise star displays his love for the women in his life out in the open. The names of his wife and daughters are tattooed on his arm.

The Massachusetts-born actor topbills the Doug Lian-heist film, ‘The Instigators,’ with Casey Affleck, who co-wrote the script with Chuck MacLean, Hong Chan. rapper Jack Harlow and Casey’s girlfriend, Caylee Cowan.

Matt’s wife Luciana was the producer of ‘The Instigators.’ “She was very actively involved with this one,” Matt told People Magazine. “But I just trust her. She’s one of those people whose taste I trust completely, like Casey and Ben (Affleck).

So when they say something when they dig their heels in on something, any of them do, I pay attention. We all have blind spots creatively or otherwise. And when I see somebody that I agree with so much feeling strongly about something. I look really carefully at it.”

Matt disclosed that to prepare for the emotional distress, he relied upon the people who’d already gone through the process.

“I called my friends and asked them how they dealt with it, what happened to them,” he said.

Matt’s daughter, Isabela, will start college in the fall, attending New York University (NYU). When Matt previously guested in Late Night with Seth Meyers, he revealed how his daughter likes to roast him.

“She likes to give me a hard time,” he said. “And she is very clear about not wanting to see anything that I’m in even if she thinks it might be good. If I get bad reviews at something, that’s the one she wants to see.”
