“Still devastated. Still grieving from the loss of a friend. Still can’t believe it,” simula ng Kapuso actor.

“Cherie and I worked together in the internationally award-winning film, Kaputol, directed by Mac Alejandre @macalejandre , in 2019. Dito kami naging close.

As an actor, bilib na bilib ako sa kanya. Lalo na on how she approached the craft. Grabe focus niya sa character and she really is one of the best actresses in Philippine cinema history. I’m proud to have worked with her several times. The last project we did together was GMA’s Legal Wives,” patuloy niya.

“The times that I really appreciated Cherie were the times behind the scenes. In between takes. The long tengga hours of waiting on the set.

“She was such a lady who knew how to converse. She imparted wisdom naturally and eloquently. She was so sincere in everything that she said you always knew that she spoke the truth. She’d tell you straight out with honesty what she thinks and how she feels. It doesn’t matter if it pleased you or not. No BS with Cherie. That’s what I liked about her,” pagbabahagi ni Alfred.

“The last conversation we had was on the set of Legal Wives. While waiting for our scene beside Lake Caliraya, we talked about sustainable development and how this new Pinoy company is making innovations in terms of ecology-friendly house designs.

“Her face lit up telling me about her farm in Bukidnon and how she loved staying there. She also shared to me her plans that time of going to New York. She wanted to study further and live the New Yorker life. We laughed a lot that afternoon until I was called to shoot my scene.

“Little did I know, yun na pala ang huling beses kong makakasama ang aking kaibigan na si Ms Cherie Gil.

“Rest in peace, Cherie. Til we meet again. Sharing with you guys some of our clips in Kaputol,” pagtatapos ni Alfred.
