AKO BISAYA party-list has sought reelection in next year’s presidential elections as it vowed to continue championing the development programs of the government and upholding the rights of the Visayan people in Congress.

Through their representative, Ako Bisaya Rep. Sonny Lagon a registered Electronics & Communications Engineer, and other nominees filed on Friday their Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) at the Harbor Garden Tent of Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City.

“Ako Bisaya party-list will always be the voice of the Visayan people in Congress and will continue to be an active partner of the government in its development programs” Lagon, an accomplished cocker & gamefowl breeder with numerous international and local titles, said who is a staunch ally of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) led by House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin G. Romualdez as president.

“We will be forever grateful to the commitment of the Visayan people who have been helping us in upholding their rights and welfare. We offer our success to them. Thank you,” Lagon said.

Lagon grew up in a rural town in Mambusao (Capiz) in Panay Island. He was a successful farmer before he became a successful engineer and businessman.

Other nominees of Ako Bisaya include Consolacion, Cebu Mayor Joannes Pepito Alegado, Jarvis Suarez Prochina, Maria Kara Lumongsod Copingco, and Rex Dante Lavado Palomar.

Lagon also assured the public that the party-list group will “always find ways to further improve the delivery of better health care services” as the world continues to battle the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“This pandemic has forced many Filipinos to different levels of poverty. We hope for a better Philippines after next year’s polls by working hard in addressing inequality in the economic opportunities and ensuring equitable growth in the Visayas region,” Lagon said.

“We will also continue to focus our platform and programs on the delivery of better education, food, and shelter for the people,” Lagon said.
