AJ appears in public, shrugs off pregnancy rumor
AJ Raval showed up at the press screening of “Sitio Diablo” in Gateway looking so slim and sexy. This is the first time she appeared in public after being rumored to have been impregnated by Aljur Abrenica. When asked about it, AJ just shrugged her shoulders.
“It’s up to them na lang what they want to believe,” she says. “Kasi the more you explain or try to defend yourself, lalo ka lang nilang aatakihin. So bahala na lang sila.”
AJ’s dad, Jeric Raval, was at the Gateway screening to show his support to AJ and her brother, Ace Raval, who’s being introduced in “Sitio Diablo”, which is now streaming on Vivamax.
Two other brothers of AJ came with her dad and they’re also both good looking enough to join showbiz. When someone asked Jeric if AJ is preggy, he said emphatically: “Definitely, she’s not! Magkasama kami sa bahay kayo alam kong hindi siya buntis. We live in the same house sa Quezon City and also in Pampanga, so I should know.”
He said he has always advised his daughter to just concentrate more on her career than on having a lovelife. “Kasi as of now, she’s at the peak of her career. Tuloy-tuloy ang projects niya sa Viva. Sayang naman kung maaga siyang mabubuntis at mag-aasawa. I trust AJ knows what she is doing but I always remind her that we, her parents, are always here to guide and support her.”
In fairness to AJ, her acting has really improved since she was introduced in “Gusto Ko Maging Pornstar”. She is quite impressive in her role as Aina, a girl who grew up amidst the poverty and violence of living a life in the slums in “Sitio Diablo”.
She falls in love with a man, Kiko Estrada as Bullet, who is the mortal enemy of her brother, Benz Sangalang as Tonix, as they belong to rival gangs. AJ is good in the scenes where she is torn between her boyfriend and her brother and, in the end, she becomes an avenging angel who takes revenge on the villainous government official who caused the death of her loved ones.
It’s obvious that she has a good working relationship with Kiko Estrada as they engaged in light banter during the question-and-answer portion of the presscon that followed the screening. She introduced Kiko as “mas magaling kay Gary Estrada (Kiko’s dad.)” In turn, Kiko introduced her as “mas magaling kay Jeric Raval”. They both had a good laugh with their jokes about their respective fathers. They’re also together again in a new movie, “Us X Her”, directed by Jules Katanyag.
