AirAsia: More flights for foreign travelers
AIRASIA Philippines is set to welcome international travelers with more flights as the country fully opens to all foreign tourists on April 1, 2022.
Data from the Department of Tourism (DOT) revealed that the country received 96,096 tourists from February 10 to 15 March. This is expected to increase as the country opens its borders not just to 157 visa-free countries, but to all foreign nations.
To augment the expected arrival of foreign travelers, AirAsia Philippines is also increasing its weekly flight frequencies beginning April 1 to top tourist destinations Caticlan (Boracay) to 35, Kalibo to 18, Iloilo to 18, Tacloban to 28, Panglao to 18, Puerto Princesa to 10, Bacolod to 18, Davao to 14, and Cebu to 26.
AirAsia Philippines spokesperson and head of communications and public affairs Steve Dailisan said: “The influx of foreign tourists into the country will definitely signify the strong recovery of the Philippine aviation industry. Our guests’ eagerness to travel has already manifested with the increase in AirAsia’s forward booking from 30 to 60 days. As of 18 March, we are seeing a 97% increase in seats sold for travels for the month of April alone with Boracay, Bohol, Cebu, Kalibo, and Puerto Princesa on the top spots of the most booked destinations.”
All AirAsia Philippines destinations are now accepting fully vaccinated foreign visitors with only their vax cards as entry requirements. This is expected to provide extra mobility to foreign travelers especially those who might want to experience inter-island adventure.

AirAsia Philippines is also adding exciting destinations to its domestic route network. Beginning April 8, AirAsia will fly to Dumaguete City every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Dumaguete is the gateway to beaches, hot springs, and other exciting eco-tourism destinations in Negros Oriental.
AirAsia’s Manila-Roxas flights meanwhile will commence on June 16. Guests who will book early for the said new routes can also enjoy 30kg check-in baggage for only P333 when they book from March 15 to 31 for the flight from April 1 to September 30, 2022.
AirAsia Philippines would also like to remind its guests that all domestic operations will now depart from the NAIA Terminal 4 beginning March 28, 2022. The international departures meanwhile, will continue to depart at the NAIA Terminal 3.
