Aberin lead surprise drug testing of NCRPO cops
NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Brigadier General Anthony Aberin said there is no room for drug-using policemen in Metro Manila, ordering the immediate dismissal from service if any policeman found positive for substance abuse.
Last Thursday, the NCRPO chief led a surprise random drug testing during the Guard Mounting/Reporting of New Year Duty Personnel at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa.
The results of the surprise drug test will be announced as soon as they are obtained, he said.
“The surprise drug testing underscores the organization’s unwavering commitment to the national campaign against illegal drugs, assuring the public that the Philippine National Police headed by General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil remains steadfast in maintaining a drug-free workforce,” Brig. Gen. Aberin said.
The official also reminded his men of the importance of command responsibility and the strict enforcement of NCRPO camp rules and regulations which must serve as a model for the community.
He also urged NCRPO personnel to embody professionalism and discipline by adhering to the following key principles: Observe the basics of police service, Strictly follow Police Operational Procedures; Always do what is right, Avoid involvement in illegal activities, and Stay close to God for strength and guidance.
“This random drug testing unequivocally shows NCRPO’s commitment to integrity and trustworthiness within the ranks.
We shall aspire to embody the values of the PNP, and as members of the police organization, we should show that we are examples of accountability,” Brig. Gen. Aberin said.
