A new girl group to watch out for
BEAUTY maven Bambbi Fuentes is now also a talent manager. Her Dragon Artist Management with Tine Areola has formed an all-girl band called the GANDARAS.
They held an audition for Pop Pinoy and from a list of 50 finalists, they selected six of the prettiest and most talented girls.
These are Christa Jocson, Emcel Abuso, Shira Mae Tweg, Ash Carpio, Mosh Gerodias and Mira Aquino.
“Salang-sala sila and before we presented them, we also trained them well to make sure they’ll be true crowdpleasers,” says Bambbi. “Magagaling sila and hindi kami mapapahiya. World-class ang dating nila.”
They all sing and dance but Mira is the group’s composer/singer. She wrote and recorded their inspiring theme song, “Di Ka Kulang”.
“We’re all very excited to perform live, kaya sana matapos na itong pandemic na ito,” says Mira. “We trained very hard and we promise we won’t disappoint you with our live performances.”
The song “Di Ka Kulang” is about a young person’s struggle to find a place in the sun and is used by the upcoming advocacy film about AIDS, “Sugat sa Dugo”, for which its lead star, Janice de Belen, received a best actress trophy from an international filmfest.
The girls also appeared in the said movie where they showed their acting talents. Meanwhile, aside from their film debut, the girls have also performed in TV shows like Lunch Out Loud, Mel & Toni and have done promo material for a milk tea brand. Make way for THE GANDARAS as they sing and dance and act their way into your hearts. They are all lovable and we have no doubt that their abundant talent and amazing pulchritude will no doubt easily win your admiration and your hearts! Watch out for them!
