DanteDANTE Basco is a Fil-Am actor born and raised in California best known for his role as Rufio, the leader of the Lost Boys in “Hook” starring Robin WiIlliams and directed by Steven Spielberg. He also did “The Debut” with Eddie Garcia and Gina Alajar, “But I’m a Cheerleader” with Natasha Lyonne, “Take the Lead” with Antonio Banderas, “Blood and Bone” with Michael Jai White, and appeared in various hit TV shows.

He now directs his first movie, “The Fabulous Filipino Brothers”, which he also stars in along with brothers Derek, Dionysio and Darion.

Each brother has his own story in the heartwarming romantic comedy that shows the ups and downs in the lives of Filipino immigrant families living in the States.

It is also a fun celebration of Filipino-American culture that highlights the colorful diversity among Asian Americans. “Being a part of the film industry for over 30 years, I would say that this is the perfect time to represent the Asian community,” says Dante. “We are now entering this new era of storytelling with a new media so we have to create more stories that are told from our own Asian perspective. We put a lot of heart into the preparation of this film and it feels like I am sharing my family with the whole world so I hope the people will find it entertaining and enjoy it.”

The film revolves on the coming wedding of eldest brother Deo (Derek Basco) who has to get enough money to pay for the food at their reception. His is the first story and it’s quite funny as he loses money in gambling in his efforts to get more funds for his wedding.

The next story is about Duke (Dante) who goes on a business trip to Manila and reconnects with his former high school sweetheart (Solenn Heussaff). The third story centers on David (Dionysio Basco) and his hilarious sexual dalliance with a wedding guest.

The last story is about Dannyboy (Darion Basco) who goes out on a date again after a long time of being alone with Teresa (Liza Lapira, who has appeared in many TV shows like “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Dexter”, “The Sopranos”, “NCIS”, etc.) Also appearing in the movie are Tirso Cruz III, R&B prince Jay-R, online singer AJ Rafael and hiphop maven Ruby Ibarra.
