A TOTAL of 9,877 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) have received their booster shots against COVID-19 at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

The mass inoculation was held on August 4-5 and 8-10, 2022, at the Maximum Security Compound’s Inmates Visitation Services Unit (IVSU MaxSeCamp).

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), through the office of the Directorate for Health Services (DHS), facilitated the vaccination with the help of IVSU personnel together with the Municipal Health Office (MHO) of Muntinlupa City.

The Department of Health (DOH), through the local government of Muntinlupa, provided the vaccines used during the vaccination: AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Sinovac brands.

“As the COVID-19 continues to circulate globally, this activity manifests that BuCor is not only focusing on its mandate of safekeeping and reformation but also giving importance to the health of every PDL,” BuCor said in a statement.
