80 most wanted in metro finally jailed
EIGHTY of southern Metro Manila’s most wanted persons were hauled to jail by the local police last week earning them congratulations from National Capital Region Police Office director, Major General Sidney S. Hernia.
According to Southern Police District director, Brigadier Gen. Bernard S. Yang, the arrests were made during the week-long service of search warrants by his men from October 26 to November 1.
“These operations are part of our commitment to uphold the law and ensure public safety in the southern part of the metropolis,” the official said.
Among those arrested during the period were 10 Top Most Wanted Persons or TMWPs, 27 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 43 Other Wanted Persons or OWPs.
Brig. Gen. Yang said notable arrests were made by officers from the Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Muntinlupa City Police Stations.
He said that in Taguig City, among those arrested was one alias ‘Gino,’ a resident of Upper Bicutan and one alias ‘Sonny who are both wanted for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
A 3rd who goes by the alias ‘Rexter’ was arrested in Parañaque City on the basis of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for two counts of rape. A 4th identified as alias ‘Michael’ was also arrested in the same city for multiple counts of rape.
In Las Piñas City, one ‘Rodel’ was arrested by the local police for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the new Anti-Carnapping Act while one ‘Ricky’ was apprehended on the basis of a warrant for violation of RA 9165.
