THE intensified campaign against illegal drugs launched by the Southern Police District (SPD) has resulted in the arrest of eight drug personalities and confiscation of shabu, kush and ecstasy Wednesday in Paranaque City.
SPD Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said elements of the Paranaque police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) under the supervision of city police chief P/Col. Maximo Sebastian, Jr. seized nearly P155,000 worth of kush, ecstacy and shabu in a buy-bust conducted at around 12:15 a.m. along Kay Talise St., Brgy. San Dionisio.
The suspects, identified as Clifford Valencia alias Cliff, 42, Carlos Medel Valencia, 44, Katrina Ilisan, 41, Cyril Siramen, 26, Suzuki Adriel, 27, Aragon Allen, 36, Rosarito Rolando, 53 and Agustin Marco, 47 were arrested after selling shabu to a police poseur-buyer for P1,000.
DEU operatives recovered from the suspects more or less five grams of shabu with standard drug price of ₱34,000, 19 heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing dried leaves of marijuana kush weighing 26 grams worth P31,200, a medium sized transparent plastic containing dried leaves of marijuana kush weighing 34.8 grams valued at P41,760, 24 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing ecstasy tablets worth P48,000, the marked money and drug paraphernalia.
Macaraeg said the seized drugs were turned over to the SPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while the arrested suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Paranaque City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
