7 charged for kidnap-slay of delivery rider in Batangas

CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – Seven suspects have been charged with kidnapping with homicide in the disappearance and death of delivery rider Eugene Del Rosario at the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor, Hall of Justice, Pallocan West, Batangas City, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, according to the report of Batangas Police Director Col. Pedro D. Soliba to PRO Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Acting Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.

Witnesses identified one of the suspects, a resident of San Nicolas Street, Tondo, Manila, and six other “John Does” involved in the kidnapping.

A follow-up investigation by the Batangas Police Provincial Office-Special Investigation Task Group (BPPO-SITG) is still ongoing to focus on and speed up the resolution of the case.

Authorities are reaching out to the victim’s relatives to find the possible motive for the abduction.

“Sa atin pong mga kababayan, nais po naming ipabatid na hindi po ipinagwawalang bahala ng kapulisan ang ganitong mga insidente o pangyayari. Ano mang impormasyon na makakatulong sa pagresolba ng mga kasong ito ay huwag po kayong mag-atubiling makipag-ugnayan sa awtoridad. Nandiyan po ang mga police hotlines na puwede ninyong tawagan para sa madaling pagtugon ng mga kapulisan,” said Soliba.
