FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – Six alleged former New People’s Army members gave up with their firearms to the military stationed in Baler, Aurora.

The 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division based in this camp reported that a former member of Sub – Guerrilla Unit of Komiteng Probinsiya – Isabela (SGU-KomProb-Isabela) and five members of Renewed Strength Dinadiawan Association surrendered with their guns and ammunition at the 91st Infantry Battalion (91IB), in Bgy. Calabuanan on Saturday.

The surrendered former SGU-KomProb-Isabela member was identified as alias “Enok,” a resident of Bgy. Lawang, Dilasag, Aurora, who turned-over to the military an M653 and M16 rifles, two magazines and ammunition.

The five other surrenderees are from Purok 1, Bgy. Dinadiawan, Dipaculao, Aurora. They gave up to the authorities improvised pistols, revolvers, pistols, a homemade shotgun, five magazines and various ammunition.

Maj. Gen. Andrew Costelo, 7th ID chief, lauded the continued engagements of the 91IB with the former rebels in their respective areas resulting in the success of the operation.

The Army general also attributed the continued surrender of the remaining members of the Communist Terrorist Groups in Aurora to the strong implementation of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the national government that aims to encourage the former rebels to return to the fold of the law and live a normal life.
