SIX drug personalities were arrested while more than P.2 million worth of shabu was confiscated in a buy-bust operation Tuesday evening in Makati City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the arrested drug suspects as Mark Christian Igno alias “Idol”, 24; Kerwin Paul Vitor, 27, both of Pasay City; Steven Seguibience alias “Steve”, 23; Joshua Padel, 23; Eusebio Concepcion IV, 21; and Ariel Reyes, 54, all residents of Makati City.

The operation stemmed from numerous complaints from tenants of the Rosita Building located at Gen. Macardo St., Bgy. Bangkal regarding the alleged rampant illegal drug trade being carried out by tenants of Room No. 5.

At around 7:13 p.m., joint elements of Makati Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Makati Sub-Station-4 swooped down into Room No. 5 of Rosita Building after a police poseur-buyer was able to purchase from the suspects a plastic sachet of shabu worth P8,000 using marked money consisting a genuine P500 and 15 pieces of P500 boodle money.

Operatives recovered from the arrested suspects more or less 32 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P217,600, 35 grams of dried marijuana leaves with street value amounting to P4,200, and the marked money.

“As the show window of the PNP (Philippine National Police), SPD being part of [the] NCRPO, will not stop contributing to the success of campaign against illegal drugs. Patuloy tayong magbabantay at manghuhuli ng mga illegal na aktibidad dito sa ating nasasakupan, upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan dahil kapag tahimik at walang illegal na aktibidad sa ating nasasakupan hindi lang ang SPD at kapulisan ang nagtagumpay, kundi maging ang ating mga mamamayan na binabantayan,” Macaraeg said.
